Parents,
I am sending a few sites for your child to work on. Please do not stress while navigating through the sites. If you are having trouble with the sites, please email me and I will try to help. I totally understand that there may be issues with things getting turned in. Don't worry. My main objective is to have your child reading and practicing math skills so they can retain what they have worked so hard on thus year. This class is a super group of kids and they are all eager to learn and do what is asked if them! I am learning some of the sites as well, so I will try to respond as quickly as I can.
1. Please snapshot one story you have written and send it to my phone or email.
2. Seesaw.com. - you can download the app or go to seesaw.com for great lessons I gave assigned. There us a class code to type in after signing in. It will last for an hour. You can go back in after an hour by putting in the new code. After an hour or less you will probably want to go to another site anyway. The directions are in the drop down box.
3. Epic books.com has a wonderful selection of read aloud stories for enjoyment.
4. Tcmpub.org also has a wide variety of read aloud stories.
5. Math playground, prodigy, Sheppard math are sites the kids use regularly at school.
6. Happy numbers.com has student lessons added for them. They will take a pretest first and then go from there. I will send each of you in a separate email their password.
*I am in the process of setting up individual lessons for reading in read works.
**I am also in the process of setting up individual email accounts for each child to access and use google classroom as a tool to submit stories to me.
Please remember to not stress about what your child is working on. If they are facing trouble on the sites, just let me know and I will see what I can do to help. There may even be a case where I will exempt them from that site without worry.
If your family is in need of food/nutritional services, please contact Mrs. Johnson.
Enjoy this time with your family. I know it's a "weird" time, but please don't let school stress you.
Blessings,
Laurie Robertson
