Mrs. Thomas' Classroom Blog
Hi my name is Taylor Thomas and I have been teaching 5th grade at North Jefferson Elementary School for the last 5 years. I absolutely love teaching and helping students learn new things. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and working in my garden. This summer I grew zucchini, squash, lettuce, cantaloupe, and tried broccoli (that didn't turn out for the best). In August, I am starting my Masters at Salem University in Educational Leadership. I am excited to learn how to better support my students, staff and school with new instructional strategies and leadership skills.
The purpose of this blog is to get my students to enjoy writing. Over the years of teaching, it seems that every year, so many students dislike writing time. I want to change that by changing up the medium that they are writing on and to allow them to see other ways writing is used in the real world. I want them to be able to express their ideas and then be able to comment on others and grow from the experience. In the end, I hope this classroom blog will serve as a great opportunity for my students to turn into life long learners and WRITERS!
